• Travelling the world requires all sorts of preparations. Our handy tips listed below will help you plan accordingly before you visit us.

• While Cambodia may be a war-torn country, it is generally quite safe to visit Siem Reap, a thriving tourist-centric city. Just don't go off to the borderlands where landmines are still a threat.

• Siem Reap is relatively small so you can travel by foot or rent a "motos"
(a motorbike with a trailer behind) to visit most tourist attractions. However, traffic can be quite harrowing so if you're faint of heart, rent a taxi instead.

• Early to mid-May is the hottest month, with the highest rainfall. If you're
visiting Cambodia around this time, be sure to bring lots of sun block and an umbrella.

• Tap water is generally not safe for drinking in Siem Reap. Bring along
bottled water wherever you go to keep yourself hydrated.

• There are lots of guides available to the various attractions, and it's
advisable to book one from your hotel to ensure peace of mind.
